One of the most proeminent voices of the Romanian jazz, Luiza Zan has begun singing at the age of 3 and fell in love with jazz at 16 when she first listened to Nat King Cole. Elegant, yet imposing, her voice crosses every barrier.

She won numerous awards at local jazz competitions and also the second prize at Shure Jazz Voice Competition at Montreaux Jazz Festival. Also, in 2004 she won the first prize at Cerbul de Aur Festival, with Slang Band. She studied jazz with the saxophonist Rick Condit and the pianist Armen Donelian.

Her unique music has new jazz elements and is influenced by Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves şi mai ales Nat „King” Cole, Soul & funk inspired by de Aretha Franklin, Chakka Khan ,Erykah Badu and Hip hop & R&b with influences from D‘Angelo, Angie Stone, Bilal.
